ANDERSON COUNTY A 25-year-old Anderson man is facing three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor even though the alleged victims are 17 years old.
Phillip McCombs of 1611 N. Lake Dr. was arrested Friday and released the same day from the Anderson County Detention Center with a $12,000 property bond, records show.
According to the incident report, McCombs allegedly provided alcohol to the teens on Sept. 17 at his home.
Anderson County sheriff’s deputies, responding to a noise complaint, found one of the victims, a unresponsive girl, on a bed and called for an ambulance to take her to AnMed Health Medical Center where she was stabilized, according to the report.
Two 17-year-old males were released to their parents, the report states. In South Carolina, the legal drinking age is 21.
McCombs told deputies that he did allow the teens “to drink unlawfully in his condo, but he ‘did the right thing’ by not allowing them to leave intoxicated,” Deputy J.T. Foster wrote in the report.
