Belton woman busted for prostitution, again

STORY TOOLS

— A 20-year-old Belton woman, one who made a 911 call in August that might have saved the life of the 70-year-old man that she was with, was arrested Tuesday and charged with prostitution.

Jessica Norris was arrested around 10 a.m. on Boyd Street in Anderson after she offered to perform two sex acts with an undercover officer for $15, according to a police report.

According to Anderson County Sheriff's Office, the arrest was Norris’ third for prostitution.

Around 9 p.m. Aug. 27, Raymond Harold Gilbert of 141 Green Tree Road suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen. At the time, Susann Griffin, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, said Gilbert was shot when, while he was with Norris, someone in a group of six men confronted him in his driveway. Following the shooting, Norris was not charged with any crime.

According to the police report, $20 was stolen from Gilbert.

In July 2007 and May 2008, Norris was charged with prostitution, according to records at the Anderson County Detention Center.

The reason for Gilbert and Norris being in the same place is not known, but Griffin has said that they are not related.
